This post's topic is to suggest the addition of rare weapon drops known as Bakkoto, and potentially the addition of a new type of difficult NPC that would drop these known as Baku. These weapons were introduced during the Captain Amagai filler arc. To quote the wiki page:
These equipable forces of nature would be usable by any class and each individual one would have it's own perks. That being said, nothing is without it's drawbacks. I suppose it would be more polite for me to let you know just how you're getting fucked using one of these sumbitches rather just popping it in the ol' backdoor without so much as a heads up.
Much like our wound meter, the Bakkoto also have their own damage scale. Each hit you do with one equipped adds 1 point of damage to them. When their damage meter reaches 200 the Bakkoto reacts with a 75% chance of KOing you and a 25% chance of shattering all together. As unlikely as it is find one in the first place, the only way to heal one is to feed it another by having one equipped, one unequipped in your inventory, and using a "Feed" skill to heal it back down to 0 damage. The Bakkoto are listed as followed, as is their method of retrieval.
Obtaining any of these listed is the next step. Since they are drops, I figured that a special chest, potentially black with gold trim which would be my personal taste, with a tremendously low percentage of drop would be the best way to handle this. It is entirely up to choice what exactly drops these weapons. Since Bakkoto are created by turning a living thing, a Baku spirit, into a weapon my vote would have them be dropped by small and powerful Lovecraftian npcs, possibly with the abilities of the Bakkoto themselves. If that doesn't branch out, their drop could always be added to any existing NPC.
"Bakkōtō take the form of weapons with an organic component which consists of an eye (shown to be its nucleus) and a mass of flesh resembling the innards of a mollusc, which extends along the user's body as they feed it with more of their Reiatsu. A Bakkōtō is also just a type of consuming flesh. The weapons have to be attached onto the Bakkōtō. A Bakkōtō can also grow in power when fed the nuclei of other Bakkōtō."

- Boost type: Reiatsu
- Unmastered boost: x1.25
- Mastered boost: x1.50
- Skill: Moonlit Bolt & Seal Him Away
- Details: Unmastered, Moonlit bolt is a single tiled reiatsu based projectile with a temp stun effect similar to Hitsugaya's or Rukia's ability. When mastered, Moonlit bolt becomes a 3 tiled getsuga-esque wave with the same short stun and you also gain Seal Him Away. Seal Him away is a melee strike attack that causes the victim to witness a version of himself on a different plane and location. A visual clone is placed on random coordinates and forced to spy on that clone for a short amount of time. When Seal Him Away expires, the clone is destroyed and the stunned effect is dispersed.
Kakuyoku - Boost type: Defense
- Unmastered boost: x1.30
- Mastered boost: x1.60
- Skill: Slam, Sweep, Stab
- Details: With Kakuyoku unmastered your only ability gained is slam which injures anyone standing directly in front of you within base attack distance. This causes a pillar to raise there that counts as a turf/wall with the same health of a weak hollow, making it breakable. Mastered, Kakuyoku gives you Sweep and Stab. Sweep hits anything within a 1x3 wide area and creates a wall with the same hp as a strong hollow. Stab does the same except within a 3x1 long area creating a wall just like Sweep.
Retsurai - Boost type: Attack
- Unmastered boost: x1.4
- Mastered boost: x1.6
- Skill: Toss(Passive), Thorn(Passive, Consume, Fire
- Details: In either state Retsurai replaces your base attack with an attack similar to Hisagi's zan type with much shorter range. The action consume adds 1 damage to your Bakkoto and gives you 5 ammo for the Fire action, which fires a 1x1 blade projectile that does your base attack. The ammo stacks up to 25 so you may use Consume 5 times until you need to reload and eat more of your Bakkoto. So long as you have ammunition your body is covered in blades and gives you the Thorn passive, meaning that anyone who attacks you gets 15% of any melee attack turned back at them.
Shiragiri - Boost type: Reiatsu
- Unmastered boost: x1.25
- Mastered boost: x1.50
- Skill: Mugen Kairo, DPS Increase(Passive)
- Details: When wielded, Shiragiri's dual blades give you a small boost to DPS, and a slight increase on top of that when mastered. Once mastered, Mugen Kairo becomes usable and blankets an area of 7x7 around the player when used. Aside from the mist blanket, there are also two effects. One is that so long as Mugen Kairo is active it serves as obstructive terrain and anyone walking inside of it aside from the user is slowed. The second is that inside the mist hologram copies of the user move indirectly, making it harder to target the user himself.
Reppu - Boost type: Attack
- Unmastered boost: x1.2
- Mastered boost: x1.4
- Skill: AoE(Passive), Launch
- Details: While equipped, Reppu's wielder can attack from any angle just like Kira's zan type. Once mastered, you gain the Launch skill and the ability to throw Reppu like a buzzsaw blade in a 3x3 returning projectile like a giant version of Hisagi's zan type.
Tuning Fork - Boost type: Reiatsu
- Unmastered boost: x1.5
- Mastered boost: x1.75
- Skill: Energy Blast, Energy Beam, Energy Blade
- Details: While wielded in it's unmastered state the only skill available to use is Energy Blast, a light green and slightly stronger version of Reiatsu Blast. Once mastered your Energy Blast turns into an Energy Beam and increases in power, it's appearance becoming more like Byakurai. Your base melee attack is also now reiatsu based as the Tuning Fork turns into an energy blade.
